The first thing you have to do is define the goal of engaging content correctly: It is to make the audience read from beginning to end, and that’s it.
Don’t think that attracting readers is to make the content super funny, make them laugh, or moan.
Comedy is good, but it’s hard, it’s easy to get discouraged. And the comedy factor doesn’t matter, I’ll explain.
1. Always put the interests of the reader first
Before trying to force out any words, you have to think about this. Because it will help your brain think of words, sentences should be written to attract the reader, and anything that makes the reader bored it will mercilessly remove itself.
Don’t think writing to make money, or writing to get this or that. But focus on Satisfying customers first, everything else after, and you will achieve your goal!
2. Invest heavily in the first lines (title, description, intro)
This is the first thing people look at. People feel curious, happy or worried or something like that, they just continue to watch it, if not, they don’t.
The three ways I often use to write the first few lines are:
– Summarize the content and what they will receive when they finish reading the article.
– Tell a true story, your experience.
– Applying formula
3. Pictures
With Content on Facebook, this sometimes also determines whether they read or not.
Here, you should note: Not necessarily too classy. Poor quality is also okay. (Of course, it depends on the businesses that orient themselves to be professional)
My advice is:
– Photos must be related to Content.
– Funny photos are strong points.
– Beautiful, HD, high quality photos. (for businesses with professional style)
– Authentic photos are strong points. For example, a photo of my face, a product I took by myself. (Posting on Profile is perfect)
Some of the ways I often use to find photos:
– Using Canva to create photos, 2 minutes is a super quality photo like mine. There are also templates available here, you can change the text to match the image, drag and drop a bit and you’re done. (Google from Canva immediately)
– Search photos on free, HD quality photo stores. If the link here is not good, you need to comment.
– Search on Pinterest. Above are mainly to find funny photos, sometimes even writing ideas. Those of you who do Facebook content without using this page are at a disadvantage.
– Ask everyone to take pictures. I’m afraid to take pictures, even though my face is quite delicate. But doing this industry is forced to shoot :<. It’s also quite challenging, I’ll share how to overcome it later.
4. How is the post layout?
After clicking to view the article, the reader is likely to think next: “Also curious, but is this article too long for your father to know the way”.
And the long definition here is: hard-to-read feeling. You don’t make the reader feel like it’s okay. (Unless the song is really funny, it’s ok)
Here are a few ways to make your writing easier to read:
– Lesson 1 to 2 colors only. There are many people who add the chit icon to look cold, glance at the idea of selling and be defaulted to not being sincere right away.
– The lesson should be divided into several paragraphs for people to fear, even 1 line and 1 sentence, depending. And remember the spacing between paragraphs.
– Concise smart. For example, 30 words describe an idea, 5 words also describe an idea. Then you should choose only 5 words, no matter how good those 30 words are.
– Watch some beautiful, well-composed articles and learn how to write.
5. Valuable Content
If you follow the above tips correctly, you will surely attract the audience to continue reading. To maintain, of course your content needs to have some value to people.
The value here can be: useful sharing articles, leaving readers with happy, sad, angry, …
This one you must have heard a lot, the law is unwritten, so don’t say much.
My advice: Invest in knowledge first, then write. Or have to have the skill of rewriting, or “cooking” class. Hem has 1 of these 2, it’s very difficult to write.
6. Friendly, approachable tone
Except for the user manual. If you want people to read, you have to be friendly and approachable.
The friendliness I value above the humor, because:
– 1 day I read all 10 articles, not funny at all. But still read attentively, and respectfully trust that person sharing: because they are friendly and close.
– Being friendly is easy, being funny is difficult – focusing on the hard will take a long time to get results.
– SEO articles don’t even need to be funny. Make the information useful, easy to read and friendly.
Some tips to make your articles more friendly and closer to readers:
– How do you say that?
– When writing, don’t go back and edit, just let your thoughts flow, then come back to edit and make better content.
– Read some friendly Blogs, to gradually learn how they write.
– Use everyday words, like talk. Type: “uncle, friends, listen, brothers, ok remember, what do you think,…”.
This part is very important, you should practice.
7. Funny, unique language
Obviously, if this were the case, it would be too easy to attract. But if not, don’t push yourself too hard, as I analyzed above. That’s more important friendly writing.
And in fact, you can both practice a friendly voice, and practice a funny and unique voice.
The tip is still:
Read a lot of the text of the fun, funny, unique blogs. And read with the mindset of learning the words, not skimming. Good sentence, save it. Gradually get used to it and then I will use it as my own sentence.
8. Break all the rules
(Does not apply to SEO articles)
Sometimes misspelled articles are good and cute. I’ve seen many posts with flowers luxuriantly, inverting into an opening, removing the title, .. Not according to any principle, but the effect must be loved.
Here I want to remind you to be creative, sometimes you should not follow any rules at all. If you want to be creative, don’t let anything hold you back.
After all, the best way to attract is still something: Unique and Strange. Well then!
